2023 Ford Electric Vehicle Lineup in Dallas

Electric vehicles (EVs) have reached new levels in recent years. The days of the underpowered, low-range-per-charge EVs are over, and Ford is leading the way with an incredible EV lineup. Here, we’ll cover that lineup, the EVs soon added to it, and Ford’s plans for an electric future.

New Facilities and Funding To Power an Electric Future

Ford’s plan for an electric revolution is more than talk. The company has put its money where its mouth is, investing an incredible $11.4 billion in plants and jobs to bring about that revolutionary future. This most innovative automotive company plans to add over 11,000 jobs to America’s workforce by building massive plant complexes in Kentucky and Tennessee. These facilities aim to bring zero-emission EVs to the forefront of the American automotive market and create a more advanced class of EV batteries than ever before.

The Kentucky facility, BlueOval SK Park, will be home to a pair of battery plants. The Tennessee facility, BlueOval City, will build next-gen EV pickup trucks and the batteries required to run them. Production at both facilities is set to be in full swing as of 2025. The output of these facilities will massively increase Ford’s EV production capabilities within the continental United States.

In Texas and other states, large training facilities will be built to train the next generation of specialized service techs. These techs' job is to maintain the massive fleet of new Ford EVs that’ll hit American roads within the coming years.

Demand for the F-Series, E-Transit, and Mustang Mach-E vehicles has skyrocketed, and Ford's production and maintenance capacities must rise along with it. This investment is only the beginning of Ford’s largest-ever plans. The company will make 50% of its vehicle output zero-emission EV variants by 2030. The EVs aren’t the only things that’ll be better for the environment than ever before. The facilities themselves are being built with carbon neutrality in mind.

The Maverick

The Ford Maverick was the first standard fully hybrid pickup truck from an American manufacturer to hit the American market. This trailblazing EV truck can tow up to 2,000 pounds while carrying 1,564 pounds and five passengers. It offers truly impressive feature-to-price-tag value compared to other pickup trucks, especially EV pickups. This EV is available with a towing package that increases its maximum capacity to 4,000 pounds, so it’s ideal for drivers who own small- to medium-size campers, trailers, and boats.

The Mustang Mach-E

We said above that the days of underpowered EVs were over, and the Mustang Mach-E is proof of that. This ultra-light sports EV’s battery core puts out an impressive 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. That may not seem like a lot, but traditional sports vehicles with higher horsepower and torque ratings are also far heavier.

The incredible next-generation GT version of this EV dashes from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds. It makes the quarter-mile run in a mind-blowing 12 seconds. Expect the Mach-E to get more powerful as battery cores and the electric motor's power become more advanced in the coming years.

The Escape Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid

These Escape models are among the most fuel-efficient in Ford’s lineup of vehicles that aren’t purely electric. The standard hybrid gets 44 mpg in town and 37 mpg on the open road, while the plug-in variant gets a combined mpg rating 40. The plug-in version can make it an astonishing 520 miles on one full charge and a full tank of gas.

The standard hybrid version will allow you 400 miles on a full tank and a full charge. Both Escape variants can run for 37 miles in electric-only mode. They also come packed with high-tech safety features, including adaptive cruise control, intersection collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assistance.

The F-150 Lightning

The F-150 Lightning is Ford’s heavy-duty EV pickup. It’s ideal for drivers who work and play hard, thanks to its maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. It has a maximum payload capacity of 2,235 pounds and seats up to five.

It has a massive and user-friendly 15.5-inch touch-screen infotainment system with over-the-air update capabilities. This means driving this EV pickup to a dealership for infotainment system updates is unnecessary. It’s also available with the advanced BlueCruise Level Two semi-autonomous driving system, so drivers can relax and let the computer do some work during every commute.

The E-Transit

The Ford E-Transit is Ford’s model for the commercial cargo van of the future. This wonderfully customizable van is available in three vehicle lengths and three heights, so it can be tailored to suit the needs of different businesses. The Ford E-Transit can make it 126 miles per charge fully loaded and carry up to 3,860 pounds of cargo in up to 275 cubic feet of cargo area. Companies and drivers alike will love its available reverse brake assist package. It makes parking in crowded lots much safer, saving companies much money over time.
